INTERVIEW with Jeffrey Osborne, four time Grammy Award Nominations, Gold and Platinum albums.

SZ: “You feel Love is Worth It All”, as in the name of your new album.”

OSBORNE: “The single talks about long time relationships, it’s better to
fight the trials and
tribulations we go through with a relationship when
you truly love someone then it is worth fighting for all the trials and
tribulations – love is worth all of that. Why start all over again that creates
new problems. The best thing get through those times and you’ll find
out love is worth it all!

SZ: “Your songs are so personal, they have such meaning to you.”

OSBORNE: “I’ve been married for 36 years.”

SZ: “So you know!” (Laughing)”

OSBORNE: “Year, I know! (Laughing). I wrote and produced all of the songs in the new album except one I produced with my son, Jeffrey, Junior, a song called “Work It”. I never thought I
would write a song like that. My son went to college, hanging out in the dorm with his friends and told me he was going to be a rapper. I said, wow. He made his own music and now he travels with me and does my sound engineering. We got together and wrote a song. I thought it would be nice if he gave me something that was a little more today but his song is more R&B than any on the record. (Laughing)”

SZ: “That’s funny! (Laughing). You write with so much feeling, you exemplify the way people feel about love.”

OSBORNE: “I grew up in a house where I had to listen to everything, my father was a great trumpet player, all my sisters and brothers listened to Ella Fitzgerald, and the songs back then were all about love, it seems everything has changed. I’m not crazy about some of the vocal concepts, it’s getting a little too dark for me. I think love is a universal language and it touches people all over the world.

That’s the most important thing for me, if I’m going to sing a song about love my goal is to touch someone, I don’t think you can touch anyone with derogatory lyrics (Laughing). I think you can touch someone if you’re speaking about love from the heart.”

SZ: “You have gone thru music of different genres throughout your career and succeeded in all types of music- soul, R&B, and you do it all!”

OSBORNE: “Yes, I’ve been doing it a long time, I started recording with LTD in 1972 and I’ve seen a lot of changes in music before then. It was the jazz singer then we came into the Motown sound and moved into R&B, went to hip hop, then rap, and I don’t know what it is now. (Laughing).”

SZ: “You have a mixed vocal range and can switch from soul to punk and R&B!”

OSBORNE: “Yes, I think that was the beauty of being in a group like LTD. We had many visions and we all wrote so we had a chance to sing all types of songs from the different types of writers in the group. That’s a nice combination for a show, if we have real up tempo songs and can deliver ballads that makes the show complete.

There are not a lot of artists out there, they are either balladeers or funk and there’s not a lot of them who can mix it up and do both.”

SZ: “I like your saying, ‘I spread love the old school way!”

OSBORNE: “That’s what old school is all about. We’re into a whole new era now. Everything is remote control, back then we had relationships. The kids play video games today, no interaction.”

The Martin & Lewis Tribute Appears Sunday, September 2-

August 23rd, 2018 • by Sandy Zimmerman

The Martin and Lewis Tribute Appears Sunday, September 2 By Sandy Zimmerman (Photos by the Martin and Lewis Tribute Show)

I had the opportunity to interview Tom Stevens, a talented performer living in Las Vegas. Tony Lewis, the other half of the Martin and Lewis Tribute, lives in Australia and will be flying in next week for their appearance at the Suncoast Hotel.

It is amazing how Tony Lewis, from as far away as Australia, and another man, Tom Stevens, from across the globe living in the United States, could get together to produce a show!

For 27 years, Tony Lewis had been seeking a Dean Martin partner to join him and was blown away when seeing Tom Steven’s Dean Martin video. Tony knew Tom would be perfect! Tony and Tom met on the telephone and afterwards Tom enthusiastically photo-shopped his “Dean” picture next to Tony’s and the response was phenomenal.

The duo were booked in Australia before meeting in person! They only had a few months to create an act and sent everything back and forth until Tom arrived with only three days to rehearse their new act.

As two professionals, their success united the pair. Tony Lewis has 30 years of experience as Jerry Lewis in Australia while Tom Stevens appeared in Las Vegas celebrating more than 15 years and over 1,000 shows performing his tribute to Dean Martin.

Since Tom Stevens’ first appearance at the Dean Martin Festival in 1998, he received the “Best Dean Martin Tribute Artist” and Dean’s daughter agreed.

They both have amazed audiences and are known for their own shows yet together they truly are the essence of the famous duo. Tom and Tony chose some of the classic comic routines and have even added new ones to their show.

Many of the tribute artists don’t look like the celebrities but the resemblance is uncanny the way Tony and Tom really do! Tom is a singer and Tony, a comedian, just like Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.

The public loves these tribute shows and they are very popular today as a way to hear the songs and enjoy the tributes to their favorite performers.

I reviewed Dean Martin at Bally’s Hotel when he performed
by himself and Jerry Lewis the same at the South Point Hotel,
and am looking forward to seeing the Martin and Lewis Tribute,
Sunday, September 2, at 3 PM, in the Suncoast Hotel,
9090 Alta Drive and South Rampart.

Showtime is 3 p.m. Tickets start at $14.95 plus taxes and fees,
and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000;
online at www.suncoastcasino.com  or in-person at Suncoast,
The Orleans, Gold Coast and Sam’s Town. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the show (depending upon availability) at the venue box office. www.martinandlewistribute.comwww.suncoastcasino.com

“The Classic Mint Brings Back Las Vegas’ Past”

March 5th, 2018 • by Sandy Zimmerman
by Sandy Zimmerman
Yes, the Mint’s name sounds familiar to those who remember the Mint Hotel and Casino downtown on Fremont Street. (See photo of the old Mint Casino & Hotel of the past.)
Mint Tavern Partner, Todd Worz, nightlife mogul, felt, “We wanted to pay tribute to some of the older downtown hotels as we are their biggest downtown fans.
The Mint Tavern creates a place located on the strip where people feel they were part of the community. Even if you are a visitor we welcome you like family. As exciting city as Las Vegas, sometimes people grow and forget where they came from and my partner
and I just wanted to have a little reminder here.”
SZ: “Is the Mint Tavern different?”
Worz explained: “The Mint Tavern pales in size in comparison, the signage is similar and my Partner Jonathan Fine, Fine Entertainment,
and I wanted to bring back a little of that glory. The Mint Tavern is different yet recognizable.
There is a little color change to our sign, but our sign is recognizable. People who notice the sign, some who worked or family
worked at the Mint, stop in and it brings back all these memories they freely share them. That’s one of the more rewarding things to me of this project is to hear all these stories. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Mint 400 which is the world’s largest off-road race.
We arrange a variety of entertainment which is always changing from week to week. One of the staples here at the Mint
is our Swing Dancing classes every Friday night from 7:30-9:00 p.m., with open dancing until 3 a.m. afterwards.”
SZ: “This is a great way to have fun, learn how to dance and meet people.”
Worz: “They dance the old Swing and come in that attire, the ladies wear skirts.
I have curated all of the art which has to do with good luck and fortune and invite everyone to explore the room and figure out which
symbols refer to what.
We have a bar with 15 poker slot machines and are proud to say we have the loosest dollar machines, more liberal than the
SLS and others. Our pizza program is starting next week with a variety of individual-style pizzas.  There’s also a signature cocktail list where
I also incorporated some fun history tid-bits of Las Vegas.”
SZ: “The Mint Tavern is different, it is not just another bar.”
The Mint Casino & Hotel Downtown of the past!
Worz: “We wanted to honor the age of the building and tie in to the historical significance of the Golden Steer Steakhouse, the oldest steakhouse in Las Vegas, we both are in the same shopping area.”
The Mint Tavern is located at 332 W. Sahara. For information, call 702-776-3313.

THE MOB MUSEUM’S INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS PROVIDE FUN AND INFORMATION

February 18th, 2018 • by Sandy Zimmerman

By Sandy Zimmerman

(Photos by VOX Communications)

I was invited to The Mob Museum, a museum that specializes in the history and understanding of the impact of 0rganized Crime in the past and present.

One of their new exhibits includes Organized Crime Today, explaining how organized crime has evolved throughout the years. This is a comprehensive multi-faceted study featuring organized crime in depth, a look into the stories, the famous early mobsters dating back to Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel, John Gotti and others, in the days of the speakeasies, mob-run casinos and when the Mafia became involved in crime.

This extensive research data reaches throughout the United States and even around the world. You will see so much here at the Mob Museum, it may be necessary to come back again another day to finish your experience. The museum explains, “From trafficking in exotic species to engaging in cyber-scams, crime syndicates routinely cross both physical and digital borders to execute their elaborate schemes. Using a 17-foot-wide interactive touch wall, discover where organized crime operates today and how law enforcement is fighting back.”

With interactive exhibits, you can enjoy films, displays, photographs, digital experiences, one-of-a-kind mob and law enforcement artifacts, case files and more. They have also added two new experiential spaces which include the Use of Force Training Experience and Crime Lab, which join the Museum’s already robust experiential platform, focusing on methods employed by law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute criminals and their organizations.

Visit the Crime lab and learn how they catch criminals, don’t miss the Basement- Prohibition Era to enter a speakeasy. Crime Lab Experience and Use of Force Training Experience are timed entries. RSVP’s required- Use of Force Training Experience.

You can arrange for groups or parties to enjoy areas of the museum.

Some special areas you should see:

Organized Crime Today: Visit the Organized Crime Today exhibit at The Mob Museum where you’ll see the new face of organized crime

They called it The Beer Wars. It was Chicago, during Prohibition. Well-meaning citizen’s groups had lobbied for law enforcement.

The Mob Museum considers the museum a bold and authentic view of organized crime. They want you to explore the real stories and actual events of Mob history through interactive exhibits and one-of-a-kind Mob and law enforcement artifacts found inside their restored 1933 former courthouse and post office building located 300 Stewart Avenue, Downtown Las Vegas, just minutes from Fremont Street. Parking is limited for a nominal fee. Open: 9 am – 9 pm.

“Bruce Merrin Celebrates the Sixth Anniversary of his Sterling Club”

February 18th, 2018 • by Sandy Zimmerman

“Bruce Merrin Celebrates the Sixth Anniversary of his Sterling Club”
(Photos by Sandy Zimmerman)

Bruce Merrin, known nationally for his distinguished career as President/Owner of the Celebrity Speakers & Entertainment Bureau, Inc., marked the sixth anniversary of his Sterling Club (social and business networking) at the Heartland Mansion.

Congratulations to Merrin for six years of bringing all the most prestigious worldwide meeting planners, as well as famous sports stars, entertainers, best-selling authors, newsmakers, politicians and distinguished guest speakers to the Sterling Club each month to assist members.

Merrin explained, “Of course we also book leading business authorities, motivational and inspirational speakers. This month we booked actor William Shatner and Dr. Wayne Dyers for big events in Florida.”

The beautiful Russian songstress Irina Nero headlined Bruce Merrin’s party and I had a chance to interview Irina before her show.

SZ:  “What type of music do you sing?”

IRINA: “I grew up listening to Frank Sinatra and other American singers. American music and movies are popular in Russia, I like soul, gospel and old style music but love jazz a lot.”

SZ: “I liked your personal interpretations and additions to each song during the rehearsal.
How long have you been singing?”

IRINA: “Since before I could walk!”

SZ: “Las Vegas is the best place for you with all of the entertainment here.”

IRINA: “I sing in the Italian American Club, Tuscany, and other beautiful restaurants in Las Vegas. If you want to spend an amazing dinner come to see me on Saturdays at the Mayakovski Russian Restaurant. I will sing for you all the beautiful Russian, American and songs from Armenia and other countries.”

SZ: “You must have a great repertoire!”

IRINA: “When I came to America, I only knew 12 songs, now I sing 70.”

SZ: “You probably know whatever song they want to hear.”

IRINA: “I want to tell my appreciation to Bruce Merrin for the anniversary of his Sterling Club. I wish Bruce good health, great mood, amazing happiness and what else, a huge success. Bruce is doing an amazing job working every day with a lot of energy and gets a lot of results.”

Merrin’s first major PR client was Michael Landon. He explained, “When I booked Michael on the Johnny Carson Show, we were both invited to Johnny’s home in Malibu for dinner. Johnny and Michael gave me the idea to begin my Celebrity Speakers & Entertainment company. They were my first two clients. We have booked every major President of the U.S. since Pres Reagan. We are currently booking the BEYOND THE SECRET presenters from the new movie/DVD for worldwide engagements.”

Ferraro’s Small Plate Tasting Menu-DISCOUNTS–

February 18th, 2018 • by Sandy Zimmerman

By Sandy Zimmerman
(Food Photos by Sandy Zimmerman-Restaurant interior/exterior photos by Vox Solid Communications )
I was invited to Ferraro’s Restaurant & Wine Bar for their Late-Night Mezzanotte Four-Course Menu” tasting event, from 11 pm-2 am.

Each dish is special at Ferraro’s as they prepare Italian cuisine with traditional ingredients. All of these dishes sound so tempting, you will be very happy with your choice.

The appetizers include choice of one- Quail, Burrata Cheese, Caesar Salad or Soup.
Ferraro’s serves Quail Lollypop prepared with Guanciale spicy black fig marmalade and sweet potato sauce (Guanciale is cured unsmoked Italian pig cheeks, a specialty from Central Italy).
Try the Burrata –the Queen of Italian Cheeses. Its soft, creamy Apulia Cheese combines beautifully with the roasted carrots and almonds-sorrel pesto. (Burrata began being hand-made 100 years ago in the Puglia region of Southern Italy.

The Zuppa, Pasta e Fagioll Soup means pasta and beans. This soup is served in a mini-pot.

It is difficult to choose just one and then there’s the Classic Caesar Salad, an excitingly different interpretation of a famous salad.

Choose one of the two Pastas- Fettuccine or Spaghetti.

Ferraro’s Fettuccine is served with fresh Pomodoro sauce. (Fettuccine means “little ribbons” in Italian, a type of pasta dating back to Roman and Tuscan cuisine.)

Their Spaghetti offers the combinations of Calabrese pepper and garlic spices with olive oil and Parmigiano Reggiano, called the king of cheese.

For the main course, select one- 5 ounce chicken breast or 5 ounce Atlantic Salmon.

The seared Chicken Breast includes mushrooms, pee wee potatoes and is topped with veal sauce. Always original, Ferraro’s pee wee potatoes are a surprise.

Salmone, grilled Atlantic Salmon topped with caper-lemon sauce and spinach.

Dessert, the famous Italian Tiramisu-Cannoli.

What a meal! Ferraro’s prix-fixe, late-night “Small Plate Tasting Menu”, $25 per person, is a great way for couples, families, business associates and parties to taste some of these culinary delights.

In addition to the new late-night prix-fixe 4 course’s menu, you may want to try Farraro’s main MEZZANOTTE late-night menu available from 11 pm until 2 am with a 25% discount off your total check.

As an extra late-night treat, guests are encouraged to pair their favorite wines with each course for 50 percent off (excluding red-marked collections). In addition, specialty drinks and a la carte dishes on the late-night Mezzanotte menu are all offered at 25% off the regular price.

The Ferraro family members devote themselves to ensuring each guest has a memorable experience, whether for lunch, dinner, late-night or private parties and events. Named best Italian restaurant. Open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Ferraro’s is located at 4480 Paradise Road    (across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas).  For reservations, call (702) 364-5300.

CLIQUE HOSPITALITY ANNOUNCES SOCIAL CLUB & COCKTAIL LOUNGE

January 29th, 2018 • by Sandy Zimmerman

CLIQUE HOSPITALITY ANNOUNCES APEX SOCIAL CLUB AND CAMDEN COCKTAIL LOUNGE AT PALMS CASINO RESORT

The Addition of the Two New Concepts Are Part of a $485 Million Property-Wide Renovation

Clique Hospitality’s Andy Masi, along with nightlife partners Ryan Labbe and Jason “JRoc” Craig, have been tapped by Red Rock Resorts to bring two unique concepts, Apex Social Club and Camden Cocktail Lounge to Palms Casino Resort. The addition of the new venues set to open in mid-May 2018, is a continuation of Palms’ $485 million revitalization plan that will touch virtually every aspect of the property.

“As we redevelop Palms from top to bottom including our most iconic spaces, it only makes sense to partner with nightlife leaders Clique Hospitality to help bring this vision to life,” said Jon Gray, General Manager of Palms Casino Resort.

APEX Social Club, located in the space formerly known as Ghost bar, has long held the unofficial title as the best view in Las Vegas. APEX Social Club will capitalize on the unrivaled 180-degree view while reinterpreting the space and turning the 8,000-square-foot space into an open-air boutique nightclub.

Trendy, warm finishes accompanied by sounds from local and national DJ’s will greet guests upon arrival to the 55th floor venue. Guests will also be surrounded by a number of one-of-a-kind art pieces, which will serve as a focal point to the room, creating a sophisticated, upscale vibe. To complement the stunning view and venue, guests will be able to experience specialty-crafted cocktails, age-old favorites or indulge in tableside bottle service, all while capturing peering down on the city below. You know what they say; a good view never goes out of style.

Fifty-four floors below a thriving social club will sit amid a completely renovated Palms casino floor that’s equally as unique and refined.

Camden Cocktail Lounge, located adjacent to the main entrance, is another reimagined venue. A dynamic cocktail lounge at its core, Camden Cocktail Lounge will focus on mind-blowing cocktails, all presented in a distinctive over-the-top manner and with flair unlike anything seen before. Bartenders, all of them masters of mixology in their own right, will put their own whimsical spin on beloved classics or create new favorites for guest’s right before their very eyes.

Guests will be able to imbibe in an environment that successfully toes the line of classic and modern decor. The attention to detail inside Camden Cocktail Lounge will be second-to-none.

Programming will change daily with a mixture of live music and DJ-driven sounds.

“These are legendary venues, and if the walls could talk, you would hear some amazing stories,” Craig said. “We’re going to add a few chapters to those stories.”

“A lot of people miss the heyday of Vegas when it was about the room and the energy and not just the talent,” Labbe said. “We’re bringing those days back.”

Sandy Zimmerman filmed Dirk Arthur’s interview “on location” at the Cabaret Theater after his “Wild Magic” Show (Westgate).

Dirk Arthur returned to Las Vegas to feature his all new show filled with exciting illusions, comedy, close-up magic, and even audience participation.

His amazing illusion the “Lady Floating in the Air”, with dancer Caroline McClain, must be seen to be believed! She is really floating. I was sitting in the front row and couldn’t tell how he did it!

Other illusions include a small box, when Caroline squeezes in and Dirk shrinks her to a minute size and the Japanese Box illusion. We also enjoy Caroline’s professional dance numbers leading up to the illusions.

Setting the mood for Dirk’s act, the Cabaret’s small stage and intimate showroom brings the audience close to the action. He usually performs in 1,000 seat showrooms with extra-large stages, but the audience can see everything now from every seat.

Don’t miss Dirk Arthur’s interview with scenes of the “Lady Floating in the Air” on Sandy Zimmerman’s Las Vegas Show, beginning Saturday, January 20, featured for three weeks airing on Facebook@szlvtv,

For information or to arrange filming an interview on Sandy’s show, call: 702-731-6491 or sandyzimm2003@yahoo.com

Dirk Arthur appears in the Cabaret, at the Westgate Hotel from Thursday to Sunday, at 6 pm.

The Heritage Turkeys Dating from the Original Thanksgiving

November 7th, 2017 • by Sandy Zimmerman

Sandy Zimmerman’s Las Vegas TV & articles usually reviews shows and restaurants but Thanksgiving is  arriving soon, more than just a time to get together with friends and family. What does Thanksgiving really mean? In 1621, the first Thanksgiving celebrated giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest traced to the Pilgrims in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

The Thanksgiving meal usually is welcomed with a feast of turkey, warm gravy, cranberry sauce and all of the fixings. Many people don’t realize that some of the breeds of those historic turkeys have been protected and preserved from the 1920’s!

Known as Heirloom Turkeys, rare and unique breeds like the Auburn, Black and American Bronze Turkey Heirloom breeds, the best of both worlds, the old world Heritage turkeys and the modern healthy Organic Heritage Turkeys.
The Diestel Turkey Farm is one of a few farms today dedicated to breeding a variety of strains of historic Heirloom Turkey breeds. The Diestel family keeps up the tradition of preserving the Heirloom by handling them the old fashioned way of the 20th century with a natural foothills environment and methods.

Diestel Heirloom turkeys are slow grown in Northern California, where the deep well water and fresh mountain air complements the Heirloom turkey’s diet of certified organic grains. Our birds are fed a vegetarian diet that’s 100% free of GMOs, animal by-products, antibiotics, growth enhancers and hormones.

Diestel has organic oven roasted whole turkey, pasture raised turkey and American Heirloom turkeys by
The heritage turkeys are still a tiny minority, around 25,000 raised annually compared to more than 200,000,000 industrial turkeys and 7,000,000 turkeys in the wild. Despite increasing interest in heritage turkeys, they are still a tiny minority, perhaps 25,000 raised annually compared to more than 200,000,000 industrial turkeys and 7,000,000 turkeys in the wild.

Some of the different breeds- Diestel’s Naturally Oven Roasted Turkey, Organic Oven Roasted Turkey, The American Heirloom Collection Turkey and Fra ’Mani Brined & Seasoned Young Turkey; http://diestelturkey.com/organic-oven-roasted-whole-turkey/

Murray SawChuck’s Shrunken Head Party”

June 19th, 2017 • by Sandy Zimmerman

Now Murray Has His Own Shrunken Head

By Sandy Zimmerman

Murray SawChuck Celebrity Magician, at the Planet Hollywood, has always been ready to have a party but this one was really different!

The Golden Tiki Bar’s classic south Pacific look is the perfect place to see shrunken heads. They opened the curtain and the Shrunken Head ceremony began with The Baron of the Universe, The Golden Tiki’s managing partner Branden Powers and celebrity magician Murray SawChuck. Brandon opened the box and the shrunken head was presented to Murray.

Murray’s head looked like him complete with his swept-up hair and glasses. Glasses on a shrunken head? Well the Smithsonian artist Terry Barr wanted to be as accurate as possible.

There is really a method for making shrunken heads, not many people know how but being with the Smithsonian Museum, Terry Barr creates those on display at The Golden Tiki Bar.

Murray SawChuck Celebrity Magician (Planet Hollywood) and Douglas "Lefty" Leferovich Magician (Planet Hollywood)

He takes over four weeks with each of these special celebrity heads. There are now seven shrunken heads for you to compare with the “real” celebrities- Murray SawChuck, Vinnie Paul, Marky Ramone of The Ramones, Carrot Top, Frank Marino, Robin Leach and Norm Clarke.

Besides making shrunken heads, The Golden Tiki Bar offers dining and events.

Murray is known as a magician, comedian, actor, host, humanitarian (charity events) and maybe more. His show at the Planet Hollywood offers fun for the whole family.

Murray dubbed himself “The ‘Dennis the Menace’ of Magic,” and his shows often consist of a blend of “comical mishaps” that result in illusions and magic tricks. He was featured in the fifth season of America’s Got Talent, and is the resident magic historian on Pawn Stars. He has also appeared as a magic coach on five episodes of the VH1 series Celebracadabra, and has been a guest star on shows such as Reno 911! GORDIE IS BETTER THAN EVER AT THE PLANET HOLLYWOOD

June 4th, 2017 • by Sandy Zimmerman

I originally reviewed Gordie Brown 10 years ago when he began his Las Vegas career opening at the Golden Nugget. This star-studded event launched Gordie as “The impressionist” and everyone enjoyed his special fast-moving interpretations and wit.

Gordie Brown’s recent opening was filled with celebrities at the cocktail party before his all new show in the Cabaret Show Lounge, at Planet Hollywood! Comparing his early show and now Gordie was “Better Than Ever”!

Gordie fires his vocal impressions quickly, one after the other hardly stopping to take a breadth. You watch a lot of celebrity impressions and will continue laughing throughout the evening. If you want to see a happy show, a man who is at the top of his profession, you must see Gordie Brown. You will be laughing all evening and telling your friends the next day.

Gordie has his own way with impressions, he must know thousands and Gordie’s impressions include perfect facial expressions and bodily movements to match. When you watch Gordie, he becomes your favorite celebrity.

I like the Cabaret Show Lounge because of its intimate atmosphere and the ability to see Gordie as he moves about in the audience.

Gordie opened for Louie Anderson, Randy Travis, The Righteous Brothers, Paul Anka, Rich Little, Barry Manilow and others.

Gordie is an actor, artist, musician, comedian, impressionist, singer and maybe more? This is a show you won’t forget.

Gordie Brown appears Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, at 7 pm, in the Cabaret Show Lounge, at the Planet Hollywood.

Bio: An accomplished musician and composer, and extreme music lover, Gordie Brown’s diverse musical prowess has been an integral part of his career in entertainment. From writing and recording the theme song for the Emmy-Award winning animated series “Life with Louie”, to performing his popular musical parodies on stage, to writing and producing a growing collection of original compositions, Gordie’s music has gained notoriety in every corner of entertainment.

Singled out as a ‘great entertainer’ by Celine Dion, Brown delivers spot on impressions of such notable celebrities and artists as Garth Brooks, Robert De Niro, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Jack Nicholson and many more.  Gordie Brown Live Unplugged combines the best of Las Vegas entertainment into one nonstop high energy show. With comedy, singing and talent beyond compare, Brown’s return to the Strip in an intimate venue will be a must see.

“Rashida Diva Performs Magic at the Monte Carlo Spa & Spa” & REVIEW: Rashida Diva

March 4th, 2017 • by Sandy Zimmerman

“Rashida Diva Performs Magic at the Monte Carlo Spa & Spa”

Celebrity stylist Rashida “Diva” explains, “I see myself as a magician, I bring out your beauty, wherever you want the focus.

With my multiple specialties in hair styling, hair coloring and make-up, I look at the whole person. It’s not just finding one foundation, one color, or one look.

I’m mixing and matching colors and giving you a little here, a little there, just to be sure you look natural and true to your original skin tones.

With a foundation of professional experience since ’96, Rashida “Diva” knows the arts of make-up, hair styling and hair coloring.

Rashida explained, “I’ve been doing this so long, I just pick-up the skin tone and ask how my client wants to look?

It’s important for me to ask where she is going, that’s what makes the look. If my client is just seeing a movie or if she will be dressed for dancing then I should give her a “Red Carpet look”

This quick consultation with my client shows what she is into then I take it from there.

“Thrill to the Pulsating Rhythms of Il Divo’s Music”

December 4th, 2016 • by Sandy Zimmerman

SHOW REVIEW–
By Sandy Zimmerman
(Photos by Il Divo)

The Il Divo World Tour appeared in Las Vegas with all of the pageantry and passion their fans expected. Il Divo performed the dramatic Latin rhythms from their latest seventh album “Amor Pasion”.

The quartet’s resonant voices carried throughout the showroom as they stood together at the top of the grand stairway for the opening their show. With life-size videos behind them, the men walked down the stairs, stopped to sit on the steps and changed the mood. They appeared so casual, so spontaneous in a more relaxed musical set.

Each man has a different personality and style yet together they are dynamite! With such passion in their songs, the men interpreted the music in their own way.

Il Divo’s moving performance created the feeling that tonight was very special! Their warm, personal comments always mean so much to the audience.

Close your eyes as you are transported to Spain while Carlos, Urs, David and Sebastien serenade you. The album’s name “Amor & Pasion” clearly expresses the feelings and emotions of Spain’s fiery music.

Their extraordinary mix of music brings people together to enjoy new interpretations as well as old favorites.

American by nationality, the tenor David Miller (born April 14, 1973) has been a professional opera singer prior Il Divo. He graduated from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio majoring vocal performance and took a Master in Opera Theater.

The Swiss tenor, Urs Toni Buhler, the long-haired singer, was born in Switzerland on July 19, 1971. He attended Amsterdam Conservatory before trained privately by famous tenors Gosta Winbergh and Christian Papis.

The oldest member, Carlos Marin (born October 13, 1968) is of Spanish ancestry but was born in Germany. With his deep voice, the baritone claimed the trademark as ‘primo baritono’ in loads of operas. His musical education included the lessons from the legendary tenor, Alfredo Kraus.

Providing the ‘pop’ voice in this band is Sebastien Izambard (born March 7, 1973 in Paris), the only self-taught member who has produced and written songs for many French singers.

Il Divo recorded 12 songs spanning a century of traditional tangos, smoldering boleros and classic mambas promise to set the stage for a very different Il Divo tour.

The multi-national four piece have gone on to achieve unparalleled success around the world with 30 million album sales, 50 Number 1 Records, 160 gold and platinum awards in over 33 countries.

Il Divo appeared at the Pearl Showroom, in the Palms Casino & Hotel. http://www.palms.com http://www.ildivo.com http://youtu.be/A6PzZjopg50
